COVID 19 Update
Blue Ridge and New Life Family,
Hello everyone! I wish I could speak to you in person, but due to time constraints, and the nature of this subject, that is not possible. But I am thankful to the Lord that we can communicate otherwise.
I am sure you are well aware that we are facing a global pandemic in regards to the spread the Corona Virus. Fear has struck our nation and, from what I am learning about this virus, rightfully so. At first, it seemed that everything was being blown out of proportion. But as I’ve watched businesses, sporting events, schools and other activities shut down, it is obviously something we, as a church, need to take seriously; especially since we have a lot of elderly, sick, and young people who attend our church.
Therefore, I feel it is best to put out a statement to everyone in our church in order to inform you that your pastoral staff and church board are discussing these matters and wish to take the necessary course of action.
The church will be open this Sunday. We have no plans to shut down right now. On Sunday March 15th, we will have our 9 am and 11 am services and 10:10 Sunday School as usual, but we will take it week to week and follow the CDC and government’s instructions and continue to keep you updated on where we stand.
Stay home if you feel you must. Please, do not feel obligated to come to church if you are concerned about your health in regard to the spreading of this virus. The last thing we want to do is make people like they must come to church when they are afraid to do so.
Stay home if you’re sick. Please, do not come to church if you are sick.
Limit physical contact. We are asking that everyone not shake hands, hug etc.
We will thoroughly clean the facility. By Sunday, the church will have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized; more so than usual. We will ensure this is done every week as we continue to monitor this situation.
We will not pass the offering plates. We will still take an offering in both services, but the ushers will bring the plates around to everyone or you can place your gift in the plate yourself. If you can’t make it to church, please mail in your offering to Blue Ridge Church 466 S. 775 E. Shelbyville, IN 46176
No drinks or refreshments. No drinks or refreshments will be served. Please do not bring food, drinks or make coffee at church. If you’d like to bring your own, that is fine.
Facebook Live. Both services will be streamed live on our Blue Ridge Facebook page. If you’re able to do so, please attend church in person, but if you can’t or don’t feel comfortable doing so, you can view our full service online. Please contact Pastor Brandon or Theron if you need help with this.
I know these are unsettling times, but let us remember that our God is always in control. Nothing takes Him by surprise and nothing can stop His will. Let’s pray for those affected physically, financially, and spiritually. Let’s also not lose trust in our God who is “our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
